We've made some changes
to The Sunday Times
The Internet is awash in homemaking blogs, sharing tips and advice on how to clean, darn, knit, crochet, organise and sew just like the good ol' days. Here, some of the most diverting we've found
On organising your wardrobe:
How does anyone cope with staring at sweaters and turtlenecks in the middle of the summer. No thanks! Or even worse tank tops in the dead of winter. How depressing! - I'm an Organising Junkie
On crocheting discloths:
I must say I truly enjoy using cotton. It's delightful. - Mrs Happy Housewife
On how to clean like a maid:
Cleaning your microwave is easy peasy. Put a bowl of vinegar and water in the microwave, and cook on high for 3 minutes. Then just wipe out the microwave with a rag. The vinegar will take care of that funky popcorn/bacon smell combo most everyone's microwave has, and the steam will soften even the most funky funk that's in your microwave. - Curbly
On cleaning your toilet naturally:
I turn off the incoming water and flush. This way the bowl is pretty much empty. Then, I sprinkle about a half cup of baking soda all around inside. Next, I pour over the baking soda some white vinegar (1/4 -1/2 cup). (The kids love to watch this part because it gets all fizzy.) I scrub it all over with my toilet brush, turn the water back on, and flush (after the tank fills). - All things hold together
On what to read with your knitted cashmere hot water bottle cover:
I think the Persephone list contains some of the best Hot Water Bottle Literature to be found anywhere. You know what I mean. The kind of book you take to bed with a nice cup of tea*, or read by the fire snuggled under a quilt. The kind of book that requires a favourite biscuit or a few squares of chocolate. The kind of book which is well-written and utterly readable. The kind of thoughtful, entertaining book into which you can escape and from which you return with a new perspective. - Yarnstorm
On making your yellow bathtub white:
Yellow bathtubs can be restored to white by rubbing with a salt and turpentine solution. Apparently. - Morning Noon and Night
On how to treat grease stains:
Over the next few weeks, I’m putting the a lot of “tough on stain” products to the test in search of one that works. - Geeky House Wife
On making an old-fashioned bonnet:
I am in love with this style, more of a cap really-- a bonnet with no brim. I know I have seen this style in a bunch of the vintage children's books that we have, but I could only find this image here at the moment. It's from one of our favorite books, The Story of the Snow Children. Angry Chicken
On how to clean your house:
When you look back on your life, the things that stay in your mind are some of the things related to homekeeping not how much time you spent at the office. Its home and hearth you remember, you pine for, you need. Too many people think that they have to either be Martha or give up on home chores completely. Kathyrn Weber
On cleaning the bathroom:
The first thing you need to realize is there are no magic cleaning products. Nothing you shake or spray or foam on is going to automatically remove your built up grime. Housewife Ink

What a great list! Love OrgJunkie. :-) She's one of my favorite bloggers. Then again, I tend to organize a smidge too.
