Help! I am in a rut. What colour make-up would you recommend I use to complement my white hair and olive skin?

Sarah says: You are a perfect example of how white hair can really work. I might think about taking it a tad shorter, though, just to give it a bit of a lift – and to get rid of the brown ends.

When it comes to make-up, you are lucky, because you have a great complexion and a warm skin tone, so you don’t need an awful lot. Start with under-eye concealer – one that’s not too pink – to banish dark shadows. For colour advice, I asked Paul Herrington, head of artistry at Bobbi Brown UK. He suggests its Extra SPF 25 Tinted Moisturizing Balm (£32; www.bobbibrown.co.uk) in Light to Medium Tint to add radiance, sun protection and moisture. Apply Pot Rouge in Powder Pink (£15.66) to your cheeks and, on your lips, Lip Color in Sandwash Tulle (£14.68), with Brightening Lip Gloss in Peach (£13.50) on top. As for eyes, dust Eye Shadow in Ivory all over the lid and Eye Shadow in Naked (£13.70 each) from lash to crease, then add a sweep of Eye Shadow in Mahogany along the lash line for beautiful definition, and finish with a good black mascara.
