The ten shades, from Shadow (a dusky pink) to Ink (pitch black), are available in tiny bottles that won’t dry out before they’re used up. The glossy formula leaves nails super-glamorous.

Max Factor’s False Lash Effect Mascara (£10.99, available nationwide) does exactly what it says on the tin. The brush is the biggest wand ever designed by Max Factor, in order to cover from root to tip; it’s claimed that it doubles the size of lashes, while the formula thickens as it dries to create serious drama.

Starting at just £1.50, e.l.f.’s products are wallet-friendly. Its new Shimmering Facial Whip (£1.50, www.eyeslipsface.co.uk) is available in six shades and is perfect for highlighting brow bones and creating a lustrous pout when applied discreetly to your cupid’s bow. A little goes a long way.

Barry M’s Dazzle Dust (£4.50, www.barrym.com) is a small pot packed with iridescent colour. The new season collection includes Winter Berry, which is a rich, warm, plummy colour with shimmering flecks of metallic magenta to really make your eyes pop. Apply a primer underneath the Dazzle Dust to keep the pigment in place for the whole evening.
