Atmosphere and clientele: Although non-invasive cosmetic procedures are almost the norm these days, that’s not to say you necessarily want a fanfare when turning up for one. As with most Harley Street establishments, this clinic has a discreet entrance but, inside, a very down-to-earth and unintimidating atmosphere. Perhaps because the sk:n clinic chain specialises in correcting skin conditions as well as offering cosmetic work, the waiting room houses a diverse clientele of both sexes, reminiscent of any GP’s surgery.

Products and treatments: Our spy was attending the clinic for the first time for a Botox top-up and was pleased to find the doctor was a thirtysomething pregnant female. It was comforting to feel she was someone who understood women’s objectives in these matters, rather than have the nagging suspicion that you are being used as a guinea pig. She was reluctant to administer too much Botox, suggesting instead that our spy come back in two weeks should she feel the need for more. Quick, friendly and relatively painless, this was our spy’s most relaxing Botox treatment to date.

Highs: The huge range of treatments available, and the relaxed and friendly, but professional atmosphere.

Lows: Basic decor.
