Orange fever
A straw poll of the Style office confirmed that orange is the only colour we want to wear on our fingers and toes. Take it further by adding a neon swipe to eyes, as James Kaliardos did to glorious effect at Rodarte. Chanel Lumières Facettes in Plein Soleil (£34.50), with terracotta hues, is a less scary way to adopt the look. Try OPI nail colour in Brights Power (£10; 01923 240010).
Vinyl lips
The only way to do gloss is in a lip-smacking, take-no-prisoners shade. Our favourites are Cosmetics à la Carte Lipgloss in Bubblegum (£18; cosmeticsalacarte.com) and Lipstick Queen Big Bang Illusion Gloss in Cosmos (£20; spacenk.co.uk). Fun, frivolous and good enough to eat.
Aqua eyes
Take a leaf out of Frida Giannini’s book with Gucci-style, 1960s-inspired aquamarine eyes. Play down lips and keep skin lightly bronzed. Estée Lauder has the shade spot on with its Duo-Tone Eye Pencil in Aqua Teal (£14), and Bella Pierre mineral eye shadow in Ha Ha (£13; 0800 0234 190) is the truest blue out there.
Rusty metallics
Welcome copper, rust and olive pigments into your vanity case. Versace has been honing this sexy look on its models for years, and now it’s your turn. Illamasqua eye pencil in Wilful (£13) is a good starting point. Or try YSL Fard Lumière Aquarèsistant in Golden Fern or Copper Radiance (£19, 01444 255700) for full-on glitz.
Matt lips
Danielle Scutt and Luella brought matt lips bang up to date on the catwalk this season. Bold, bright colour is the only way to pull it off, so opt for an orangey or hot-pink matt, such as this Strawberry Suede shade (£7) from Revlon’s Matte range.
The new summer scent
When the latest scent from Lancôme came through our doors, we weren’t expecting to love it so much. Hypnôse Senses (£29, out July 1) is light enough for hot days — it must be the mandarin essence — but packs a sexy punch to take you through to night, which must be the pink peppercorns.
