The joint fortune of Madonna and Guy Ritchie is estimated to be £300 million, in the Sunday Times 2008 Rich List.
Forbes magazine put her earnings for the year to June 2008 at $40 million, down from $72 million the previous year. In particular, last year she struck a £60 million, ten year deal with concert promoter Live Nation Inc.
Ritchie's contribution to the couple's wealth is estimated to total £20 million, from his film directing work. It is thought the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement, potentially putting Ritchie in line for a settlement of up to £50 million.
The assets of the marriage are reported to include:
A £7 million family townhouse in Marylebone, and a ten bedroom, £6 million property next door.
Two London mews cottages worth £2 million each.
Punch Bowl pub in Mayfair, London.
A £3.6 million West End building used as the Kabbalah headquarters, and a five storey, £1.6 million house in Regents Park also used by the sect, loosely affiliated to Judaism.
Ashcombe House, a £10million country house estate in Wiltshire.
Two Manhattan apartments overlooking New York's Central Park worth £2 million each.
A home in Beverley Hills, also worth several millions.
Cars including a £47,000 Audi Q7, a £35,000 Mercedes Benz people carrier and a £58,000 Range Rover.

People,let's be finally fair!
Madonna should not give any cent to husband!!
What husband is that??
Madonna deserves all money she made, only, only and only she and her children.
Mr.Ritchie should not ask any money from wife if he is a real man!!!
jon, tashkent, uzbekistan
The picture above of her feeding the chickens says it all. Look at a picture of her now - frightening. Madonna should've gone with her instincts and settled down. Too bad she was just playing dress up.
Stephanie, Los Angeles, USA
Richie will get absolutely nothing from Madonna beyond what he's earned during their marriage. The family courts don't treat women the way they treat men.
Malcolm, London, UK
Guy Ritchie shouldn't walk away with any more money than he has earned since the marriage and the assets he had before the marriage. Everything they have aquired (property etc.) should be divided. Richie has no claim to most of Madonna's fortune since she earned most of it before they met.
Travis, Knoxville, TN, United States
I don't see why Madonna would have to make a bigger settlement than Paul McCartnery. True, the marraige was twice as long, but Madonna assets are about half of Paul's while Guy's assets were a lot more than Heather's.
Robin, San Jose, USA
"One way or another, this divorce should result in a huge payout for Guy Ritchie IF PROPERLY HANDLED.
Guess who's not acting for Madonna then?
If properly handled, both are independently wealthy and capable of supporting themselves. Why should each need the other's money? Oh yes, lawyers!
Jon, Winchester,
"Wealth and property which predate the relationship are usually treated differently from wealth built up during the marriage, where courts may consider a more equal split", says Ms Hicks.
Sensible, but nonsense. I had my house before I got married, it cost me a FORTUNE to keep it when I divorced.
Jon, Winchester,
Madonna is probably a serial divorcer and both her and her huspand are independently very wealthy.
Save for the children, who cares other the lawyers who would make a dripping roast out of it if they could.
Easy in, easy out, that's the showbiz way.
Willie Mac, Arden, Scotland
A woman GIVING assets to the man after a divorce? Surely this can't happen, something must be tearing the fabric of the universe apart.
Howard, Manchester,
If they were adults they would have it settled in 10 days.

I think that Madonna should give all money to Ritchie
