Net gain for granny

It took a year to organise but I knew exactly what I wanted with grannylook.com , a website that I set up a month ago to advise my contemporaries on things to do with grandchildren: no flashy introductions, no music, just something simple so that they didn’t have to sift through 50,000 Google links first.

I, like lots of older people, had time to fill but little idea of how to fill it. The websites that grandparents browse (if any – my generation is invariably slow on the internet) were all to do with health or pensions; there was nothing fun.

So when my lovely little granddaughter was born, I found myself wondering what to do with her on a Thursday afternoon. I decided to help myself and others in a similar predicament. I don’t pretend to know everything, I just try to direct users to the best places on the net for travel, days out – even how to tag grandchildren so that they can’t escape you at the supermarket!

I lived in Milan for 20 years, where I worked as a fashion buyer, so I have always had an eye for topical things, and these days I spend my winters in California, which is great for ideas. Everything that happens over there is always about to happen here, of course.
