Neem oil — you can use it on your face, body and hair, and, as it’s antiseptic, bugs hate it.

What is your beauty secret?
It’s pretty basic: I drink lots of Evian and sleep a lot, at least ten hours a night.

Expose a beauty myth
I think chocolate is good for you. I adore Green & Black’s organic 70 per cent dark chocolate.

Jerry Hall wouldn’t be caught dead in . . .
Combat trousers! They’re just not flattering. And I’d never wear anything that sags in the knees or the bottom.

What is your biggest fashion mistake?
Buying footwear with square toes. I never wore any of it.

You’ve met The One. What do you wear on your first date?
Tight clothes: jeans, pencil skirts, tight black dresses, cheongsam dresses. I love John Galliano, Thierry Mugler and Vivienne Westwood.

Do you ever slob out at home? Only in silk Japanese kimonos.

What would you go into the red for? Really soft cashmere. I love jewellery, especially diamonds, and, oh, rubies too.

Thongs or knickers?
Thongs are repulsive! I like hip-huggers and low-cut, low-on-the-leg knickers in cotton or silk. I can’t stand nylon. I love Agent Provocateur’s knickers (0870-727 4169); they have a seam up the back, which is very flattering. There’s a lot to be said for big underwear — too many people wear their knickers too tight.

To tan or not to tan ...
I like getting a real tan (never a fake one) but I’d always wear an SPF8.

Do you put your face on before you go out?
No, I never wear make-up during the day.

What products did you use before your modelling days?
I’ve always liked olive oil, almond oil and sesame oil, which I smother on before I take a shower or a bath. It makes your skin really soft.
