Granted, there are plenty of other things to worry about right now, but as one of the world's more tractable problems, Agyness's new haircut is something comforting to turn to on sleepless nights. Supermodel hair in general can be fertile soil for insomniacs - memorising Linda Evangelista's past hairdos certainly beats counting sheep.
There is an element of jeopardy with Agyness's new look, however, that might keep you awake, because the thing about this haircut is that it came just in the nick of time. Obviously a model has to work her look if she intends to transcend her mere model status and become a first-namer. But then she finds another look. For a moment, it appeared as though Agyness might stick with that spiky, dragged-through-an-expensive- hairdressers'-backwards look for ever and thus break the model contract. But now she's gone and got a teeny-tiny little bob (exactly like Evangelista's, circa 1994, in fact), complete with a teeny-tiny fringe.
And here's where I worry, because although it looks truly adorable on Agyness, the teeny-tiny fringe is one of the hardest accessories to pull off since the wimple. Yet it's tempting to go for one, because fringes cover a multiple of mistakes - frown lines, too much Botox, acne, blah blah blah.
And because they're little, you could even argue that they're unobtrusive. But you would be wrong. You might just as well park a caravan on your forehead. Better still, slap a sticker on it declaring “I still think that I am a gamine French teenager”, or another saying “I have become a professor at a fashion college in Antwerp” or another announcing that you are going to star in the next instalment of The Incredibles. You can always remove the stickers when you're sick of them - but that fringe will take months to grow back.
