A leading fashion model who had worked for Chanel has been found hanged in her Paris flat after leaving a final post on her blog that read: “Say hi to forever.”

Daul Kim, 22, was discovered by a male friend in her apartment in the 10th arrondissement yesterday morning. Police said that they suspected suicide.

The Korean-born model, who broke on to the European fashion scene in 2007, had recently also worked for Dries Van Noten and Alexander McQueen.

She chronicled her thoughts and told of the pressures and loneliness of the catwalk in a blog under the title “I want to fork myself”. She left her final post along with a video of I Go Deep by Jim Rivers, a British singer. The entry ended: “Best track forever.”

Friends said that Kim was in a fragile emotional state and suffered from the pressure of her career. On October 30 she wrote: “Mad depressed and overworked, the more I gain the more lonely it is. I know I’m like a ghost.”

Her suicide, if confirmed, would be the second by a supermodel in Paris this year. In March Lucy Gordon, 28, a British model-turned-actress, was found hanged in her flat in the fashionable Bohemian district on the Right Bank, where Kim also had her apartment.

Kim’s family were flying to the city last night. Esteem, her agency in Seoul, asked for respect for the family’s privacy. Her Paris agency, Next, said that she was “a top model and a great friend of all of us”.

Kim, a regular on the catwalks of London, Milan and New York, was brought up in Seoul and Singapore. She modelled in Asia before making her appearance at Paris Fashion Weekin 2007, modelling for Chanel, Dries Van Noten and Maison Martin Margiela. She recently appeared in a commercial for Christopher Kane’s Topshop line.

Kim’s English-language blog was flooded with tributes from admirers. The poetically written journal reflected her hobbies of painting and video film-making. Some of the entries spoke of her emotions while others covered favourite art topics.

In one of her early posts, she wrote: “My life as Daul was so sad and lonely. Join me in my solitude in another world.”

On October 31 she posted the entry: “I think this year I will remember today as the day I slept 10 hours without any help of anything or anyone without any dreams and woke up feeling peaceful and happy. No more running away from something or someone or myself.”
