Tommaso del Buono and Paul Gazerwitz are the rising stars of the horticultural world. So much so that their relatively new landscape-design company clinched commissions from the fashion bigwigs Tom Ford and Isabella Blow in its first year of business. The duo developed their eye for impeccable planting while working for Arabella Lennox-Boyd, the grande dame of British garden design, then decided to strike out on their own. Their speciality is creating chic yet soft gardens that work with, rather than compete against, existing architecture, as at the Greenhouse restaurant in Mayfair and a hip concrete house in Highbury by the architect Azman Owens.

More than 1m windows are now covered with his blinds and awnings, including grand designs by the top architects Richard Rogers, Norman Foster and John Pawson.

This self-taught designer’s sandblasted glass cabinets, stone cabinets and mirrors have caught the attention of Andrew Lloyd Webber, George Michael and Collett-Zarzycki, the architects and interiors company. Clifford will work to almost any brief — including show-stopping glass floors — to whip up wonderful conversation pieces.
