First, the middle parting: it doesn’t look boho when it exposes a bald forehead. Then there are the curls, which seem to emphasise the bags under his eyes. Long and wretched would be okay, cool, even, but this looks as if it’s been half-heartedly puffed up into some kind of shape.

There’s an air of struggle about Law right now. In an outward display of loyalty, he turned up at fiancée Sienna Miller’s first night on the stage, but with such forlorn, lifeless hair — perhaps the effort was simply too much.

In the first flush of love, we care about how we look, then we get comfortable. This is obviously where Law is at. “What has he done?” says Hair Bitch’s friend Mark Smith, of John Frieda. “A combover! And he has blow-dried it as if this is how it’s supposed to be. Shorter hair suits him better, although long hair would be fine, if only he didn’t wash it so often and take all the life out of it. If it didn’t look so staged, it might even look a bit rock’n’roll.”

Come on, Jude. Put a bit of life back into your barnet. Before Sienna starts to have second thoughts.
