If he has to scrap bendy busses when they are only a few years old, why can't he replace them with standard off the shelf double deckers? The new Routemaster will be a purely cosmetic excercise much like the new Beetle.

How about some genuine innovation such as electric or guided busses?

1 An £8 a day charge to drive into your own city which hits the poor hardest

I do hope Boris remembers the fact that only a 3.5% swing of the votes could have brought Ken back into power. Some of the reasons of Ken's popularity are his knack for pushing ideas such as the Thames Gateway Bridge and the Crossrail link.
